Olla pots for irrigation

Olla pots – unglazed clay pots used for drip irrigation, introduced to Native Americans by the early Spanish settlers & later re-shaped with a narrow neck to lessen evaporation. They are indeed beautiful but expensive (for me). So I’ve improvised.
Block the drainage hole of a clay planting pot (water tight) then glue another pot over it and seal the joining with silicon. It seems to work so far but keeping my fingers crossed.
