Beauty is in the Eye of the Bee-holder

Upon our return from a month’s vacation, as usual, it was ‘Discovery’ time during our walk-around inspection, indoors & outdoors.

The 1st thing I noticed was;  some of the honey bees from the our neighbour’s bee-box have decided they would like to set up a new ‘queendom’ and of all places decided to try out our Rain Water Catchment Cabinet.

These are some really hard working Bees.

I love those little buzzing creatures who have helped tremendously with my backyard’s gourd and fruit pollination this year, but I know I will need the help of an experienced beekeeper who can put together some proper frames to help make their hive-life more comfortable.

Next week when Mr Bee-Keeper comes around to check the neighbour’s bee-box, he’ll have another hive to look into & hopefully also get some comb and honey.

But for now, I’ll just happily watch what Mother Nature has sent my way.  Yes, I have had a few collisions with those little things but I think they sense I’m not out to harm them, so no stings.  Organic/chemical free gardening is indeed a pleasurable hobby.

  1. I’ve gotten a few photos of bees on flowers. That’s as close as I’d want to get. I’m glad you’re comfortable enough with them that you’re willing to let them buzz about. Good luck on the relocation effort. 😉

    • Thanks. I sure hope they’ll like the spot where Mr Bee-Keeper moves them to. I like honey bees as they don’t sting unless they feel attacked & I feel sorry for those that have to sting to protect their colony because after they sting, they die. I find worker bees very gentle & hardworking ~ yeah I watch them like I’m watching cartoon on tv. 🙂
