How do you get rid of pesky phone calls from telemarketers?
I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize or show a prompt from my Contacts List. I have a very polite voicemail to please leave a message should the call not be answered. No message left = no return call. Too many calls from the same number without leaving a simple message and I will allocate the nuisance ringtone, which is my code, to not even bother checking. They eventually give up (so far).
What are you a “natural” at doing?
Cracking my knuckles. 😦 I know it’s a very bad habit but I’ve been doing that since my teens and it relieves me of stress, anxiety, boredom, pain, etc. Funny thing is I do not do it when I’m happy or engrossed for hours in a good book.
How often do you get a haircut?
No hard & fast rules. Cool weather, let it grow to cover my neck. Warm weather, keep a bob.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?
Traveling. The fun starts when I begin looking for roadmaps/flight schedules & the level builds up when looking for hotels, places of interest, itinerary planning… then *yippee!* the trip starts (and I’ll actually forget to crack my knuckles for a long while).
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
The “snowbirds” (people from up north where it’s snowing like crazy) are back in town and the library where I volunteer is buzzing with activity so I’ve doubled my volunteer hours. Last week so many senior snowbirds just flooded the coffee room table with cakes and cookies, telling us stories of their grandchildren, just hugging us all like surrogate grampies ~ it actually made me miss my parents ~ and I feel grateful that there are still so many nice people around despite reading bad news everyday on the internet.
In the coming week, I may, just may, get a visit from my niece who lives in Australia with her husband and their 2 old son… if they can bear more winter, can get tickets to NYC from Frankfurt, then head south.
