Another Garden Project underway

Why is it always so exciting when you think of, do your calculations, buy materials and start a project … only to find it a pain when it takes longer than expected, to finish?

We have this side-plot by our front yard that we considered “wasteful lawn” and decided to discretely make it a nice vegetable patch since it gets morning sun and rain. To prevent erosion we decided to build a retaining wall & some steps going down to our bamboo patch.

Yes, we even dug a swale for run-offs from our roof which will lead to our backyard and into a drywell. My Singapore “Save-Water-Campaign”, drummed into me since a child, has come in useful.

To make it super sturdy, we used more than expected and ran out of rebars.  Then of course Home Depot also had to run out of 2ft rebars for the day.  *sigh* So as in the movies, they say  “To Be Continued …”

  1. Looking forward for the full project to be up!

    As they say
    To start is easy
But to keep it going, than it is the challenge. 🙂
