The beauty of (some) Ants

I don’t like all kinds of ants, urgh! fire ants, carpenter ants, termites … are branded enemies of sort but I guess they do have their functions in nature.

Garden worker ants who collect food (nectar) for their queen and help with pollination, I treat as my gardening assistants and leave them alone. IF one actually takes a close, and I mean really close, look at them they can be beautiful and fascinating.

Nice legs.

Nice big mandibles, good for clawing & putting food in mouth.

And there they are … multi-tasking, collecting food for their queen, feeding themselves and creating some food for me.
