When I saw Cee’s Flower of the Day, it just reminded me that yesterday, being the chilliest day we’ve had since the start of winter (60°F), my fussy little apple tree actually opened up her buds. Oh yes, the first bloom of this winter.
So, should I be happy that it’s been a warm winter so far, which is good for my tropical fruit trees? Do I just ignore the cool weather vegetable seedlings, pretend it’s early Spring and start sowing for summer harvest?
I’m a lousy gambler so I’m going to go ignore the odds and go both ways. Sow seeds for both warm and cool weather plants and let Mother Nature decide, after all the “stakes” are just some extra seeds.
