Pineapples (Nanas/黃梨) are Flowering

I guess the Pineapples are flowering in my garden (or rather my grow zone) because it’s Spring. OK, officially it is the start of Spring but plants, unlike us people, can’t be bothered with calendar dates. They just do what they feel like. So yesterday and today the 3 pineapple plants in my yard began showing off their blooms. Do you know that each flower produces a fruit?

So the Pineapple we know, see, buy & consume is actually a bunch of fruits aligned and clumped together into a framework, to produce that mega structure which we think is and call a Fruit. I wonder why no one has called it a Pineclump or Clumpapple.

So beautiful yet not often seen.

So attractive yet self pollinating.

So attractive yet self pollinating ~ bees excused.
