What on earth is this?

Have you ever bought something which you didn’t know what it is and what it’s for? Today I did.

It was raining, no, actually pouring when we stepped out of an American Chinese restaurant after lunch today, so we decided to head to the supermarket under sheltered walkway. Along the way I guess we got a bit sidetracked into the Humane Society thrift store. Browse, browse, browse and then …

The $5 mystery.

The $5 mystery purchase.

No one, even after discussions with 7 other browsing customers, could tell me what this is. Even the cashier grinned and shook her head when asked. So here I am with a “new” toy wondering what it is and what to do with it.

It turns, so is it a display case of sort?

Layers 1 & 2

Layers 1 & 2 = squares

Layer 3 = only vertical wires.

I’m sure there are readers who know what this is, but not me, not the hubby, not the others who have seen this today i.e. about 15 people. Suggestions will be really appreciated.

In the meantime, I’m going to see what I can re-create out of this contraption and I hope this is not the start of old-age clutter hoarding.

  1. Not sure. It’s made of solid stiff wire that needed a metal saw blade to cut, heavy duty wire-cutter didn’t work, so we think it might have held heavy stuff like hardware or auto parts display.
